As a proud holder of the EcoSchools Green Flag, the Mosaic EcoSchool Committee — made up of students, teachers, staff, and parents – is currently midway through a two-year project focused on understanding our usage of water and developing ways in which we can conserve this precious natural resource and manage its use within our school and beyond.
Having researched and audited how we use water over the last school year, through surveys, data-collection and real-life observations, in 2025-26 our focus will turn to place—testing solutions, raising awareness, and ensuring that our efforts lead to real and measurable improvements in our school’s water sustainability. By the end of the academic year in June 2026, we hope to see our actions result in lasting changes that will be carried forward in the years to come.
Our EcoSchools project is developed in collaboration with EcoSchools, J’aime ma Planète, and the International Schools Partnership ILOS Changemakers program, organisations dedicated to promoting environmental education and action. Through these partnerships, we will connect with sustainability initiatives beyond our school, broadening our learning and impact.
This project isn’t just about making changes within our school—it’s about empowering students, staff, and families to take their learning beyond the school walls. As co-researchers, we hope to extend our water conservation efforts into our communities and homes, encouraging responsible water use in daily life. Through this shared journey, both children and adults alike will develop a deeper understanding of water sustainability and contribute to a more environmentally conscious future.
